news-today.world | An Ohio Air Force veteran who was asked to remove his flag pole by his subdivision’s homeowner’s association because it didn’t meet the “community’s standards” was outraged that he would be asked to do so.

Wayne Marchant said he was given verbal permission by the HOA to install the pole after moving into the subdivision nine years ago, but received a letter last Friday asking him to remove or modify the pole to comply with regulations, WLWT reported.

Another resident with a flagpole got a similar letter.

“As a veteran, I wouldn’t think to erect a flagpole and fly the American flag would be something that I have to get permission to do,” Marchant told WLWT.
