WASHINGTON, DC: The 2018 Congressional Art Competition is now open for submissions. This competition recognizes talented high school artists from each Congressional district. Winners will be invited to attend a reception in Washington, D.C. and will have their artwork hung in the U.S. Capitol.
Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) encourages all high school students in Maryland’s First Congressional District to apply. Submissions will be displayed at the Salisbury Art Space in downtown Salisbury from May 5 to June 10. The gallery will host a free a public reception for the show on May 18 at 5:00 PM.
For full competition guidelines and the student release form, please visit Congressman Harris’ website at https://harris.house.gov/services/art-competition.
The deadline for submissions is April 26. Submissions can be dropped off at any of Congressman Harris’ district offices in Bel Air, Kent Island, and Salisbury. The district offices are open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 to 5:00.
