news-today.world | TOWSON, Md. — A trial began Tuesday in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Korryn Gaines, the Randallstown woman shot and killed by Baltimore County police in 2016.
The story gained national attention when it began on Aug. 1, 2016 -- a fact that's mirrored in responses from potential jurors. Of the initial pool of 60, nearly half told the judge they had heard of this case.
"We're pleased with how things are going. We meticulously tried to select a jury, and we achieved that," said J. Wyndal Gordon, the attorney for the Gaines estate.
The final panel of nine women -- six jurors and three alternates -- was seated after lunchtime Tuesday at Baltimore County Circuit Court.
