There is a vast wasteland of no information on what it costs to put up a windmill, and absolutely zero on the one at Ches. College, however, the last link on the previous email I sent you has a lot of REAL numbers on the Lake Land College set of 4 in Mattoon, Illinois. The site above has some average numbers on total cost of an installed unit being between $125k and $200k all hooked up and running. pp. 29-31. I did the math on Mattoon college and they paid $134.00 per KWH over the 4 year life span of their now defunct windmills.

So, with that in mind, and the Chesapeake College single tower installed cost, might have run $150k of our money. By their own numbers, the turbine put out 250 KWH per month, measured when new and only one month, but let’s just run with that.

Put into service Nov. 1, 2011, it ran supposedly until February of 2017 when a lightning strike or power surge of some sort fried it. That’s 61 months. I have been past that thing several times prior to that on windy days with it NOT spinning, but let’s just go with Liberalspeak for now.

61 months x 250 KWH = 15,250 KWH generated over its lifetime. $150,000 divided by 15,250 = $9.84 per KWH.

What.

A.

Deal!

WINNING!

My electric bill just came in the mail from Delmarva Power @ $163.00 for 1084 KWH, or $0.15 per KWH. And, they’re making good money off that!

So, Chesapeake College, who put this windmill up for “Educational Purposes” is now saying that since it no longer produced power, it no longer serves as an educational tool, and they took it down (More cost). I totally disagree with that statement, as I suggest anyone believing that go back and re-read what I just wrote! This STUPID windmill has served as one of the BEST educational tools for our entire nation! What did we learn?

Windmills cost too much to build.
Windmills are susceptible to lightning.
Windmills only last about 4 years on land with regular maintenance.
Erecting them offshore would be stupid.
Wind power is 800 times more expensive than oil generated power.

So, the logical decision was made by the Big Heads at Chesapeake College………………...GO SOLAR!!!!!!!

It really makes ALL the sense in the world. They can put up 6 acres of solar panels and all the related wiring and infrastructure, adding on several car charging stations for public use, ALL FOR FREE!! Just like that STUPID WINDMILL, it’s done with OTHER PEOPLES’ MONEY! AND they will still have “justification” to have an Alternative Energy Program complete with several professors and classroom space to sell to their gullible students!

Genius!

Then, lightning will strike.
Wind damage will occur
Panels will become less efficient with age
Transformers will blow
Solar technology will make today’s panels obsolete in 7 years.
Oil supplied power will continue to be more cost effective to those of us who are forced to use REAL MONEY.

And the cycle will repeat, because, Liberalism.

And Liberal Jim will still lobby for offshore windmills so he can fill his pockets with more of our money.
