(SALISBURY, Md.) – Maryland State Police made an additional arrest as part of an ongoing investigation into a multi-state drug trafficking operation.

Michael Dashawn Walls, 19, of Salisbury, is charged with several felony and misdemeanor violations of Maryland’s controlled dangerous substance laws, reckless endangerment and maintaining a common nuisance. Additional charges are expected to be filed at a later time.

Beginning in late fall 2017, the Maryland State Police Heroin Investigative Unit, led by the Maryland State Police, Criminal Enforcement Division, Gang Enforcement Unit, and assisted by Maryland State Police, Salisbury, Berlin and Berlin Barracks, Maryland State Police, Central South Narcotics, Salisbury Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office, began an investigation into the distribution of opioids by a documented criminal gang associate identified as Narada Michael Walls, 37, in several counties, Baltimore City and neighboring states.

Narada Walls’ opioid distribution was primarily focused in and around Salisbury and Wicomico County, Maryland. Walls, who was arrested on Dec. 15, has also been identified as Michael Walls’ father.

On Dec. 20, 2017, the Maryland State Police Heroin Investigative Unit, led by the Maryland State Police, Criminal Enforcement Division, Gang Enforcement Unit and assisted by Maryland State Police, Salisbury, Easton and Berlin Barracks, Maryland State Police, Central South Narcotics, Salisbury Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Wicomico County States Attorney’s Office, and United States Attorney’s Office arrested Michael Walls with 7,292 grams (16.1 pounds) of raw marijuana and $795 in drug proceeds.

Additionally, investigators served a search and seizure warrant at Michael Walls’ residence located in the 300 block of Mill Pond Lane in Salisbury, Md. and recovered a 9 mm semi-automatic assault rifle and a tactical style .20 gauge, pump-action shotgun in addition to other items of evidentiary value related to the Walls opioid drug-trafficking organization.

The investigation is ongoing.
