Incident:
Most Wanted Apprehension
Date of Incident: 21 November 2017
Location: E. Salisbury Parkway at Tilghman Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Melody Rae Lord, 44, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 21 November 2017 at 10:00 AM, a deputy on patrol observed a known wanted subject, Melody Lord, drive right in front of the deputy. This deputy had been trying to locate Lord since May of 2016 when Lord failed to appear for two hearings in the Circuit Court, both for theft, one of which was for a felony amount.
Lord had also been featured on local media outlets as on of Wicomico County’s “Most Wanted” and tips had been received that provided information that Lord had relocated to another state.
The deputy was able to stop Lord and take her into custody on the two Circuit Court Bench Warrants and transported her to the Detention Center where she was detained without bond.
Charges: Failure to Appear
Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 22 November 2017
Location: 300 block of Naylor Mill Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Clayton Bruce Colwell, 53, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 22 November 2017 at 7:48 PM, a deputy responded to a reported altercation at a residence in the 300 block of Naylor Mill Road in Salisbury. Upon arrival, the deputy met with a female juvenile victim who advised that she had been assaulted by Clayton Colwell inside the residence. According to the victim, she had been embroiled in an argument with another family member when Colwell intervened and threw her against a wall and then against a piece of furniture.
During the ensuing investigation the deputy observed signs of injury to the victim and placed Colwell under arrest for the assault.
The deputy transported Colwell to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Colwell on a $10,000.00 unsecured bond.
Charges: Assault 2nd Degree
Incident: Firearm Possession by a Prohibited Person
Date of Incident: 24 November 2017
Location: Mt. Hermon Road at St. Alban’s Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Antonio Lamar Gardner, 29, Dundalk, MD
Narrative: On 24 November 2017 at 9:49 AM, a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Antonio Gardner after observing that Gardner was texting while driving. As Gardner opened the glove box to retrieve the vehicle’s registration, the deputy observed what was recognized as a baggie of marijuana that was in excess of 10 grams at which point the deputy placed Gardner under arrest.
Further search of Gardner’s vehicle revealed a .380 semi-automatic handgun with a loaded magazine inside a bag in the trunk. Examination of the handgun revealed that the serial number had been removed. It was also uncovered that Gardner was prohibited from possessing a regulated firearm due to previous criminal convictions.
The deputy also discovered that the registration plates on Gardner’s vehicle had been suspended due to a failure to comply with an equipment repair order.
The deputy placed Gardner under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Gardner without bond in the Detention Center.
Charges: Possession of a Regulated firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a Firearm after a Felony Conviction, Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person, Removal of a Firearm’s Serial Number, Handgun in Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana over 10 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
