news-today.world | The man who barged into a Riverside, California elementary school shortly after 11am on Tuesday and proceeded to take a teacher hostage for six hours before being shot dead by a SWAT team has been identified as Luvelle Kennon.

Authorities are now saying that Kennon, 27, was a disgruntled father and in the midst of an 'emotional breakdown' when he grabbed Linda Montgomery, 70, and put her in a headlock as he dragged her into a classroom at Castle View Elementary School.

A substitute teacher who is married to a staff member tried to intervene at one point before Kennon got Montgomery into the room, but was beaten bloody by the man and left with a broken nose.
