On Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at approximately 12:46 AM, Troopers from the Maryland State Police – Salisbury Barrack were dispatched to Shore Stop located at 27430 Ocean Gateway, Hebron, Wicomico County, Maryland 21830 for a reported armed robbery after the fact. Upon their arrival, they made contact with the victim who was working his scheduled shift that night. The victim reported that while sweeping the floor near the front entrance of the store, a Caucasian male subject wielding a large butcher style knife entered the store and robbed the clerk at knifepoint and obtained cash and cigarettes.
The victim was able to observe a small passenger vehicle quickly accelerating on W/B US Rt. 50 past the store soon after the suspect exited the store. The vehicle was described as a small sedan, unknown color.
The suspect in this investigation was described as the following:
Caucasian male
Estimated height: 5’5’’ – 5’7’’
“Blueish” eyes
Clothing:
Black flat-brimmed style hat prominently displaying “CHICAGO” in white lettering on the front
Gray t-shirt
Long-sleeved under-shirt with camouflage patterning on the sleeves
Dark colored pants or dark-wash style jeans
Gray tennis shoes with black soles (appear to be UnderArmor)
White socks
Black bandana covering the majority of the face
Earlier on Saturday (previous day), a vehicle was stolen from Preston, Maryland matching the characteristics described by the victim at Shore Stop. The vehicle was recovered on Line Road in Federalsburg, Maryland, and is currently believed to be the vehicle utilized in the armed robbery.
If anyone has any information on the armed robbery, or is able to assist in identifying the Caucasian male as described by the victim, they are asked to contact Corporal D.
