With streets flooded and strewn with power lines and debris, authorities warned the storm's most destructive powers were just beginning. Governor Greg Abbot warned Texans to stay away from rising water, noting that currents can be swifter than they appear. Turn around, don’t drown. Don’t risk your life,' he said at a news conference Saturday afternoon. 'The most important thing all Texans can do is to put your life and the protection of your life first and foremost.'
