news-today.world | Salisbury – Mayor Jake Day has announced that the City will conduct a weekly, interactive briefing to keep citizens up-to-date with safety related matters. The briefings will occur every Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m., and will include information and updates on crime in the City, fire/ems calls for service, and other helpful safety tips and information.
The briefings will simulcast on Periscope and Facebook, and will be archived after the fact for those who are unable to view live. Citizens are encouraged to participate online. Questions will be taken from the public via Facebook and Periscope comments sections and will be answered live.

“Access to accurate, relevant information is key to helping people feel safe in their communities,” said Mayor Day. “We have always striven for transparency—whether by leading the way as one of the first agencies to voluntarily embrace body camera technology, or by having the Chief of Police and other City leaders meet with stakeholders in neighborhoods throughout Salisbury—our goal has been cooperation and the open sharing of information. Now we are ready to lead once again, as we become one of the first municipalities to establish this sort of interactive dialogue with our citizens over live stream.”
