newstoday-ok.blogspot.com ~What? No chain link vote this week? Pourqoi?
Looks like the City Council has their earsets plugged in as homeowners and landlords complain about the proposed beautification measure by our illustrious Mayor Jake Day. Glad to hear some dragged themselves out from in front of the idiot box to go protest this insidious balderdash full of feel-good goe that makes you have a tooth cavity upon reading it.
It seems last Monday's sessions produced a tabling of the "Chain Link Fencing" caper and may be revisited in mid-July. All the same, let's hope the City Council bounces the idea altogether because let's face it, kids, bullets can't be stopped by vinyl green fencing either.
And to think, no crazies on the downtown plaza with signs and vagina hats...
It's good to see folks taking a vested interest in that little thing we call property owners' rights as per our Constitution; rearing up to say, "Damn the Man" in a stunning fashion. Snaps to the fine citizens who did voice their dismay and here's to many more insane policies we'll have to follow suit with more peaceful protest.
With all the issues Salisbury faces, aesthetics are surely the last thing that should be worrying City Hall dwellers' pretty little heads. If we want to talk aesthetics, I'd rather have chain link fencing than blood on the pavement from shootouts in an O.K. Corral styling crime scene full of spills and chills. I think that's a movie most of us would care not to be represented in real life.
